Apethorpe

Apethorpe - Northamptonshire
B1191 Apethorpe
In the late 15th Century Apethorpe was acquired by Sir Guy Wolston, an officer in the household of Edward IV, who began the construction of the present Apethorpe Hall.
In 1949 the hall was sold and was used as a school which closed in 1982. A private owner bought the property but neve lived in and it fell into a state of disrepair. English Heritage took over the property in 2004 and major repairs have now been effected to restore the hall back to its original state.
